Affirmations As A Tool For Growth

When used every day, Affirmations are terrific tools that can
help you reprogram your subconscious mind, build more confidence,
develop an abundance mind-set and more. The problem is that many
people aren’t sure exactly how to write effective affirmations.

Affirmations should be written in the first person and in the
present tense, because now is the only time that exists.
Consequently, creation can only happen in the now.

The wording of your affirmation is very important.
You need to state exactly what you want to happen and be
able to express what it feels like if you possessed the object
you desire at that given moment. In other words. You need
to feel the truth of the affirmation, and believe it has already
happened. You need to repeat your affirmation every day
upon awakening and just before going to bed without fail at
least for 5 minutes.

The whole purpose of affirmations is to shift your thoughts and
emotions to a more positive “space” so you feel more confident,
happy, secure and abundant. It also direct the power of your
subconscious mind to assist you in achieving your goals.

Take a look at the model affirmations below and feel free to use

what until they produce the mind-set and emotional state you’re

 Is Loving Yourself Possible?

Love. A word charged like a loaded gun. We have been bombarded all
our lives by messages about love. You must love your mother and
your father; you must love your siblings, your friends, your
husband, your wife, your pet etc. Since love begins with one’s
self, how can you love anyone if you don’t love yourself?

If you spent your childhood being put down by your parents and
other adults or peers that you looked up to for your sense of
self, you will have difficulty loving yourself. These negative and
derogatory messages are recorded in your subconscious mind and
their effects are still affecting you to this day.

When someone told you that you were a loser, you believed them.
When someone told you that you’d never amount to anything, you
believed them.  When someone told you that you were dumb, or
learning disabled or a total idiot, you believed them. The sad
part is that you still believe them to this day even if you’re
not consciously aware of that.

Is it possible to rewrite these old messages playing in your
subconscious mind and replace them with new, empowering ones?
Yes you can!

The first thing you need to do is to spoil and pamper yourself.
Spend time doing things that make you feel good. Be selfish with
your time. Do things with others or for others when you feel good
about doing it not out of obligation or because you want their
approval. Spend quality time with yourself because you deserve it.
Learn to love spending time alone. Read personal development
books to help you explore a new way of being.

Secondly, examine your current belief system. Create positive and
empowering affirmations such as: “I am a valuable person. I have
a lot to offer. I am creative, talented, and successful. People
appreciate my company”. Use affirmations when the old messages
begin playing in your head to make you feel inadequate or to hold
you back. Challenge them. Don’t let your past determine your
future. Don’t let someone else’s opinion determine your reality.
Decide what you want to be true about yourself.

Thirdly, stop focusing on what is wrong with you. Instead focus
on all the good things you have going for you. Love yourself,
encourage yourself in your self-talk. When you accomplish
something congratulate yourself! Say things like, “Wow, I am
so proud of myself for making this happen.” “When I look at
myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful, intelligent and loving
person looking back at me”. The more you nurture yourself,
the better you will feel, and in time these old self limiting beliefs will
lose their power over you and your subconscious mind will begin
to accept the new, positive and empowering messages you have
been feeding it. When you can truly affirm that you love yourself,
the love for others will come naturally without any effort on your
part, and you will attract new individuals in your life that will
reflect that love towards you in return.

 Let Go And Soar

Life is simply made up of choices. You either choose to be
happy or choose to be sad. You choose to be angry or you
choose to be calm.

You can make the choice this day; right now this very minute
to move forward in a life of freedom, health, and
prosperity.

You would not get too far driving a car with the emergency
brake on. The same applies to goals or dreams. If you try to
go through life holding yourself back with the “brakes on”,
allowing doubt, fear and negative self talk to be the
barrier that holds you back from becoming what you were
meant to be. You too will take your potential to the grave.

I say that because very few people ever live up to their
true potential. In fact the place that has the most
potential in the world may shock you. It’s the cemetery.
That’s right you heard me. The Cemetery. Most people die and
never achieve their potential and thus it dies with them

Today make the choice to move forward with your goals, your
dreams, and your aspirations. Release yourself from any
beliefs you may have about poverty or failure that might be
adversely affecting your thoughts, words, and actions.

Speak the following words orally, not just in your mind. Say
them. Affirm them. Make a sticky note and place them where
you can see them when you are brushing your teeth. This
exercise will help you to begin the renewal of your mind.
Your thought processes.

It is my desire to improve my health, I let go of any doubt
that I can be completely healthy. Wholeness is my divine
heritage. It is my desire to improve my finances. I let go
of any doubt that I can be financially secure. Prosperity Is
my divine inheritance. Rather than striving for results, I
allow The Divine Creator to transform my understanding and
my thoughts, so that I move forward into a life of freedom,
health, and prosperity. As I release all forms of self doubt
and negative self talk, I make room for my real potential to
be revealed and thus I am able to fully appreciate and
experience life the way it was meant to be.

Are You The Slave of Your Self Talk?

Are you aware that from the time you wake up
to the time you doze off you are in constant
communication with yourself? Are you aware of
the things you say to yourself and the tone in which
you say them?

When you make a huge mistake, do you criticize
yourself bitterly? Do you call yourself loser or a
good for nothing human being? Do you spend time
putting yourself down for every little mistake you
make?

Your thoughts definitely make up who you are
as a person. Negative  self-talk is a very destructive
force towards your self confidence,  particularly if you
spend your day referring to yourself with the constant
use of negative words.  Sooner or later you actually begin
to believe that what you are saying is true and you accept
any negative situation as “your just portion” in life.

Generally these negative messages
originated from comments verbalized by
adults that played an important role in your
life while you were younger. They may have
uttered these harsh words when you did something
that irritated them or maybe they just berated you
even when you did not deserve it.  Therefore as a result,
you have internalized these negative messages and now
you are reinforcing this negativism by repeating them to
yourself and accepting them as truths.

Fortunately you have the power to change your
negative self-talk any time you want. You just have to
monitor your thought processes. When you say something
negative towards yourself, Stop! Replace that negative
message
with one that will empower you.

Try these 3 simple steps

1) Be aware of your “self-talk”. And notice when you
are putting yourself down. With practice this will
become easier.

2) Reject the negative message.  When you notice yourself
saying something negative such as;  “I’m such
an idiot, I can’t do anything right.” Stop yourself!
Change that negative statement by affirming
the following:

“I am intelligent and I can do anything
I put my mind to.”

3) Replace the negative thought process with a positive
one. When you notice that you’re saying uncaring and
harsh things to yourself, simply change it around
in your mind.  Using the above example, you might
say something like; “Wow, that’s not true at all!  I do a
lot of things right.”  “It’s true I sometimes make mistakes,
but so does everyone else. No one is perfect.” “I’m a wonderful
person and I try my very best. I am pleased with myself.”

With practice, your efforts will pay off in the form of
a stronger sense of self and a lot more appreciation for
your gifts and talents.  It will take time, persistence and
patience to undo years of negative programming, so
do not give up. Eventually you will succeed in
replacing these negative beliefs with positive ones,
and as a result you will feel better about yourself,
and your life. You will see this positivity spill into
your personal life as well as your professional life.
Enriching not only you but also those around you.
