Finding Inner Peace

How do you set up a garden for growing flowers and fruit trees?
Do you just plant the seeds and water them right away? After a
while, the flowering plants and fruit trees will develop, no
doubt, but in that soil, the seeds of weeds also grow. Weeds are
ruthless creatures and can eventually strangle the most beautiful
and inspiring flowers.

So it is in the garden of your mind. If you set out to plant
inspired ideas and inner peace in your life, you first have to
get rid of bad habits – the weeds of your beware. Not just remove
them initially, but continuously look out for them. Even the most
superb of inspired thoughts and inner peace will die in a forest
of vices.

Man is a complex being. He is comprised of one part mind and one
part matter. When the two parts are harmoniously connected, he
sparkles like a diamond with the joy of life. But once the two
parts conflict or are unbalanced, the result is a gloomy lump of
coal.

We tend to blank out that we’re not physical beings having a
spiritual experience, but spiritual beings experiencing a
physical experience. The spiritual being requires the human
body to explore life to the fullest and to spread life on earth. And
the material body looks for the spirit to motivate it higher,
beyond the baser instincts of beasts.

A balance has to be struck between our physicality and our
spirituality to achieve inner peace and inspire ourselves and
others.

Meditation is important for creating inner peace as well as
inspired living. Meditation is a broad term for a state of relaxation
where one moves beyond routine ‘reflex’ thoughts into a higher
state of awareness. Practiced across all religions and
communities, this discipline has been found to make changes in
the circulatory, brain and respiratory processes of the body and
also decrease stress considerably.

Exercise your body for inspiration and for finding inner peace.
You can practice yoga or play a tennis game or just walk quickly
down the stairs instead of taking the elevator. The exhilarating rush
of endorphins brought on by exercise is your body’s reward for
the effort. Your revitalized body will lift your weary soul.

The correct balance between physicality and spirituality for
inner peace and inspired living is quite subtle but the few
individuals who have managed that are among the most successful
people in the world today.

As you practice techniques for finding inner peace more
and more, and you keep learning more things, you will feel the
rewards.

When you learn how to improve yourself physically and spiritually
and you learn how to find the right balance, you can achieve
inner peace and inspired living.
