conquer fear

There are times when simply thinking efficiently probably will not move you past your own fear and anxiety. Occasionally merely plodding it out is the thing you have to do.

The actual Evangelical speaker Joyce Meyer states, “If you’re afraid to do it, just DO IT AFRAID.” No one will blame you for being fearful—what you will be blamed for is letting that fear immobilize you. So it doesn’t matter what it takes, keep moving.

Fear is much like a quagmire—it slurps at our feet and if we stand still long enough, it begins to pull us down. It’s challenging out of, but it can be done.

How to Set and Achieve Goals

Have you ever set a goal and not complete it?
Most people have. In truth, it’s quite usual for
the majority of people to get caught in a
never-ending cycle of setting goals and then
abandoning them very quickly afterward thus
achieving nothing at all.

Why do people do this? One of the main
reasons is a lack of commitment towards their goal.
Without commitment a goal will slowly lessen
in significance, and the temptation to give up
will appear much more desirable, particularly
when problems result in setbacks and delays.

On the other hand, if you make a genuine
commitment and constantly remind yourself
of it, you’ll be more likely to persist and
achieve the goal you set your mind on.

Use these steps to commit to your goals:

1) First and foremost, you have to be sure that
every goal you set is of significant importance
to you. This can be tricky since we so often dupe
ourselves into believing we desire one thing
when we desire something totally different.
Take some time with this part of the process,
and be certain that you get to the core of what
you really desire. Why do you desire it?
What will it do for you? What sure things will it
add to your life? How will it help you? How will
you feel when you have achieved it?

Write all of this down and keep it close at hand, so
you can refer to it as often as needed in the event
you feel your commitment towards your goal
beginning to dissipate.

Also ask yourself if your goal is worth the effort
and sacrifice that will be required to achieve it.
If you can in all sincerity answer yes, then you
on your way to achieve it!

2) Think about what will happen if you don’t
achieve it. Would something serious occur if
you don’t achieve your goal? If not, then your
stakes are too low! You have to make your goal
the most important thing in the world, and when
you do, you will find within yourself the
determination necessary to make your goal
become a reality.

3) Each and every day, renew your commitment.
It’s simple to be committed when your goal is new
and your motivation is high, but you need to be able
to remain committed no matter what! Each day
when you wake up, read the goal you wrote down,
and stress again how critically important it is to you.
Promise yourself that you’re going to do as much as
you can to work on your goal that day, and every
day until you achieve it.

When it comes right down to it, no one can achieve
your goals for you. If you want to achieve them,
you’ll have to find the determination required to
keep going. Inaction and procrastination are
generally nothing more than bad habits. Changing
those habits into something more constructive
and productive is as clear-cut as taking it a day
at a time and working very hard to transform your
life. The more committed and strong-minded you
are towards making your goal materialize, the more
likely you are to succeed.
